Digifab of the USA have launched a new StampaJet, a digital textile printer that they claim is a new generation high speed textile printer that utilises a self-cleaning adhesive belt transport system.
A printer, they say, that is designed for digital fabric printers who require fabric variety with high print speeds and exceptional quality.
The StampaJet with its speed potential of up to 54 square metres per hour, ink and fabric versatility and colour control, combined with a competitive price and small footprint opens new opportunities to textile digital printing.
The machine is delivered fully assembled and tested, with Evolution Textile RIP software which makes it ready to print. It is sufficient to connect the electric power, air, water, load the inks and go.
The StampaJet comes with the new extra wide variable dot Epson print heads, with 1440 nozzles per head, 4 times more the conventional print heads. The distance from the print heads and the fabric surface is automatically controlled by a sensor. A sophisticated laser device checks on the fly nozzle efficiency and prevents print faults.
The adhesive fabric transportation belt prevents even the smallest movement of the substrate once in position, and ensures perfect registration. A precision twin roll unwind mechanism with photocell edge sensor guides the fabric precisely and smoothly onto the belt, whose glue is activated by heat, making the StampaJet ideal to print also on stretch fabrics without distortion.
A rotating brush washing unit with open water circuit prevents 'back printing' by removing the excess of ink from the adhesive blanket. The entire washing unit is mounted on rails and can be extracted with ease for inspection and cleaning.
StampaJet ships with two hot air infrared dyers. One before the printed fabric rewind station to dry printed fabric and the other one just after the washing unit to dry out water traces from the belt, and pre-heat the blanket's surface to optimal working temperature of the thermoplastic adhesive.
The StampaJet can print with all acid, reactive, disperse, pigment and sublimation inks via a large capacity bulk ink feed system.
It is unclear whether this company has distribution channels in the Asia Pacific region.
