Water-based textile inks supplier MagnaColours has launched a new 'non-drying' textile ink, that allows several layers of ink to be applied without requiring a separate drying process.
MagnaPrint ND, which is designed for screen printing, offers a water-based high-performance alternative to inks containing formaldehyde and PVC.
The ink has been developed to print vibrant colours onto high mesh-count textiles, and will help brands achieve a unique and eye-catching finish, according to the firm.
The manufacturer added the product achieves “great results” without the harmful environmental side-effects of PVC and formaldehyde.
The ink, which has a shelf life of 12 months, is said to be more economical than any PVC alternative. Its quality and technical performance has been designed to rival the resolution achieved by digital printing.
MagnaColours managing director Tom Abbey said: “Many in our industry have questioned whether water-based inks will ever match the ease of use of their PVC counterparts."
"Not only have we achieved this, but we’ve exceeded our own high standards, producing an ink that truly stands apart. This is another demonstration of how we’ve made ‘the impossible’, possible.”
The new ink is available with inmediate effect through distributors to the textile printing industry.
The business said it has been encouraged by industry reception to the new ink so far and that demand has been high from its international partners.
Just like all of MagnaColours inks, MagnaPrint ND conforms to the highest levels of environmental scrutiny, using the best water-based technology to secure superior finishes.
"Here at Magna, we strive to provide water-based environmentally sustainable alternatives that do not compromise the quality of the finished product. Our environmental offering is something which runs through our brand, and we are proud to be leading the way in water-based inks," Abbey concluded.
MagnaColours has also launched a raft of other products this year including an environmentally friendly range of inks and the Reflective range of toxin-free ink
