While there is increasing demand for environmentally friendly business today, in the wide format flexible printing market, there has been little progress towards real green outcomes.
Thousands of rolls of paper are printed every year, but to date, no recycled paper has been available to this market offering consistent results.
Now Océ Australia’s Imaging Supplies division has made a significant step in the “green” direction for the wide format AEC (architeture, engineering, construction) plan print market.
Océ’s 80gsm LFM145 Recycled PPC paper is now available in popular sizes for use on most wide format toner based printers. It consists of 80% recycled fibres while showing an excellent white-point and smooth finish.
Product Manager for Imaging Supplies/Display Graphics for Océ, Adrian Morris, says it is the perfect white paper for everyday use where the makeup of documents must reflect the environmental approach of your work and organisation.”
Morris says Océ has set up a free on-line media compatibility guide to allow customers to check if they can make the “green” switch using their current equipment. Online address is http://www.mediaguide.oce.com/
“The Océ Media Guide provides detailed compatibility advice and guidance that helps you select the best Océ media for your printers and applications,” he says.
“It adds to the overall green credentials of Océ printing equipment, which include less noise, less heat, less energy and full recycling of most Océ equipment parts at the end of their lifetime.”
