In the latest round of industry consolidation, Aslan, a leading manufacturer of self-adhesive films for sign making and digital printing, has been acquired by competitor Poli-Tape Group, with the deal due to take effect in a couple of weeks. The Aslan brand, distributed on the local market by suppliers including Starleaton and Graphic Art Mart, will continue.

“At the end of October/start of November 2019, Aslan, Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, based in Overath [Germany}, will be acquired by the Poli-Tape Group of Remagen [Germany],” said a media statement.
Aslan is a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of specialised self-adhesive films for use in the market sectors of sign making, digital printing, stencil films, graphic designs for interiors and films for book protection.
Poli-Tape is a manufacturer of self-adhesive films in the sectors of textile transfer films, digital printing media, sign making vinyls, laminating films and pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes.
“Aslan has a history of nearly 70 years, and is an internationally expanding and innovative company that produces niche products of consistently high-quality - Made in Germany,” said Poly-Tape in its announcement. “This acquisition by Poli-Tape will secure the long-term future of this growing and successful enterprise.
“The ASLAN brand will continue. The Overath-Untereschbach site will be maintained, all employees will be retained and the enduring high-quality personal service that customers have always known will be upheld. Existing business relationships, responsibilities, brand name - nothing will change for the market or for the Aslan customers. The name of the new company will be Aslan Selbstklebefolien GmbH.”

Aslan CEO Oliver Schwarz welcomed the deal: “Poli Tape is the ideal partner for Aslan, and for our philosophy.
