PostNet Broadway in Sydney has transitioned into MBE Broadway, becoming the first PostNet store to join print & mail franchise competitor Mail Boxes Etc (MBE) since parent PostNet Australia went into administration last year. MBE also says it’s been officially labeled an ‘essential business’ during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"MBE is part of a large group of 2,500 locations around the world and with the recent closure of PostNet Australia, each PostNet franchisee had the opportunity to come on board at very little or no cost,” said Clayton Treloar, CEO of MBE Australia.
“This is an excellent pathway for PostNet franchisees that enables them to rebrand and continue running their business. The owners of PostNet Broadway are extremely excited to be part of MBE and they’re really looking forward to the future.”
Since the opening of its newest location in North Sydney last month, MBE now has 40 locations in Australiais and is looking to add up to 80 more centres across the country within five years, according to Treloar.
"With the huge increase in pack and ship business across all centres, we are truly a multi revenue business bringing together printing, shipping and mailbox rental to form our business service centre,” added Treloar. “It's like running three businesses in one, which makes for a profitable little business.”
With conditions surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, MBE has now been officially labeled an essential business, providing B2B and C2B logistics across Australia and around the world, said a company press release.
Global network MBE has been established for over 30 years internationally and 25 years in Australia. With over 2,500 service centres worldwide and 40 locations across Australia, MBE is “the only national provider offering business service centres in printing, shipping, mail boxes and design under the one roof.”
PostNet Australia, with outlets in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, went into administration last year with debts reportedly over $300,000.
