Electronics For Imaging will host its first-ever EFI Ignite Virtual Experience event this month - three days of sessions featuring its full line of display graphics solutions, including latest wide- and super-wide format inkjet printing technologies livestreaming from EFI customer experience centres.
“The livestream events, offered daily on April 21, 22 and 23, are designed to help print service providers and industry media stay current with technology and application advancements in light of the cancellation of numerous in-person tradeshows,” says the Silicon Valley-based company.
The virtual event series will consist of:
- Demonstrations of EFI’s latest wide- and super-wide format inkjet printing technologies livestreaming from EFI customer experience centres in Israel, Belgium and the United States.
- Q&A sessions with EFI training, R&D, applications and marketing experts delivering answers on a wide variety of topics.
- Fiery digital front end (DFE), EFI IQ Cloud and Midmarket Print Productivity Suite software demos.
- Fact-filled webinars addressing business opportunities and high-value applications.
“In the current global crisis situation, with so many events being cancelled, EFI wants to ensure that customers, potential customers and industry media can have access to information they need to move their businesses forward without the need to travel,” said Ken Hanulec, vice president of Worldwide Marketing, EFI.
“There are companies that still need to make important technology decisions, and we are leveraging all of our resources around the globe, making our experts and our technologies available to better enable PSPs in their search for the most-effective production solutions.”
The EFI Ignite Virtual Experience features a variety of sessions throughout its three-day run. Teams will give facility tours and host Q&A sessions with product experts on critical display graphics topics. EFI CTO Doug Edwards will deliver a livestreamed keynote addressing the future of digital inkjet technology on April 21.
Livestreamed product demonstrations will feature Fiery DFE and automated workflow solutions, as well as EFI VUTEk and Wide Format roll-to-roll, hybrid and flatbed printers.
The Virtual Ignite events will also include demonstrations of key methods and applications that can increase users’ profitability, including printing architectural elements and interior décor; high-end print applications using both white and clear inks; dye-sublimation for permanent soft signage; and using roll-to-roll power tools beyond print to increase capabilities and reduce total production costs.

The EFI Ignite Virtual Experience is one of several initiatives EFI is undertaking to answer the evolving needs of businesses effected by the COVID-19 pandemic. EFI is also arranging private virtual demonstrations for customers and prospects that utilize their files, media, etc., to show EFI technologies addressing their individual production requirements.
“EFI continues to look for creative ways to mitigate the difficulties we are all experiencing as a result of the pandemic,” said Hanulec. “Leveraging virtual technology and our teams around to globe provides access to all necessary information in an efficient, safe and convenient way.”
