The International Sign Association’s board of directors has voted to cancel major US signage industry trade show the ISA International Sign Expo 2020 - that had already been re-scheduled from April to August 22-25 - due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“Not an easy decision”: ISA president & CEO Lori Anderson from a video announcement |
“When ISA made the decision to postpone the scheduled [northern] spring event {April 2-4], we did so at a time when information was changing rapidly,” ISA said in a statement. “We believed that the impact of ‘flattening the curve’ would result in a return to normalcy and safety much more quickly than it has.
“This was not an easy decision, but the ISA Board has chosen to cancel the event due to COVID-19. ISA knows that many stakeholders are involved in making ISA International Sign Expo a ‘must-attend’ event each year and we want to thank everyone for their time and support.
“While we won’t be able to gather as a community in 2020, we’re jumping right in to focus on ISA International Sign Expo 2021 in Las Vegas, NV.
“Throughout the pandemic, ISA has been by your side, providing information and resources to help your business meet the current challenge and explore ways to rebuild. That will not change. Though we are disappointed that we cannot gather together in person in 2020, our role in providing information, education and opportunities to connect will continue.
“Thank you again for being a part of the ISA community and we hope you and your loved ones are safe and well during these unprecedented times.”
