Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. and its IT Services division All Covered has acquired Depth Security, a cybersecurity consulting company based in Kansas City, Missouri.
“With cybersecurity attacks at an all-time high and mounting regulatory compliance, the acquisition comes at an opportune time,” said Konica Minolta. “Building upon the acquisition of VioPoint in 2018 (a security company specialising in intelligent cybersecurity), Depth Security is expected to substantially build market share as part of the All Covered security portfolio, specifically in the penetration testing segment, which is estimated to grow 14.9% CAGR1 by 2025.”
Rick Taylor, president and CEO, Konica Minolta US added: “Continuing to invest in our security offering has become increasingly critical to help customers protect their data. Adding Depth Security’s expertise to All Covered’s arsenal will accelerate our ability to keep clients’ data safe so they can focus on maintaining profitability as we continue to guide them on the path to digital transformation.”
Founded in 2006, Depth Security is a team of information security engineers that specialises in “providing visibility into threats facing infrastructure and operations, with network and application penetration testing and adversary emulation. This is accomplished by simulating real-world attacks using the same tools and techniques as attackers to identify vulnerabilities.”
Gene Abramov, CEO, Depth Security said: “At Depth Security, we have helped clients improve their cybersecurity postures through the discovery of critical security flaws within infrastructure and applications. We are currently faced with growing market demand for our security expertise.”

British-based manufacturer Domino Printing Sciences has bought Lake Image Systems, a producer of automated, vision-based inspection systems for quality control and data verification.
“The company recognises that with the growth of Industry 4.0, intelligent inspection and validation has become increasingly important to global customers within both digital printing, and coding and marking applications,” Domino said.
Lake Image Systems’ product range includes high-tech camera and lighting applications, and image data management software, which combine to produce intelligent vision systems for quality control and data verification. “By integrating vision systems into existing production processes, customers can benefit from real-time monitoring of print throughput, allowing issues with print quality and data accuracy to be identified and rectified as they emerge.”
Domino and Lake Image Systems have worked together for more than 20 years to supply vision solutions for data verification to Domino’s commercial and digital printing customers.
“Lake Image Systems is a trusted name within the field of vision inspection, with many years’ experience working on designing, developing, and manufacturing intelligent camera systems for the commercial printing, labelling, packaging, and mailing industries,” Domino said.
Lake Image was founded in 1994, by Martin Keats, Paul Smith, and Paul Stinson, all of whom will remain within the business as a subsidiary of Domino. Over the last 26 years the company has expanded its international operations, and now employs 50 personnel, spread between four offices, including the company headquarters in Tring, UK as well as the USA, France, and Singapore.
