David Crowther’s Colour Graphic Services has been unable to visit printers or conduct colour training during most of 2020 but is raring to step-up again in 2021.
Start the New Year with a globally-recognised certification in colour management - G7 Expert |
Covid downtime for Crowther – the ‘Colour Doctor’ has not been spent idly; he has fitted out a fully-equipped training studio for the first Idealliance G7 Expert training courses starting in February 2021.
“The course will be 4 hours per day for 5 days,” says Crowther, “and candidates who pass will receive an internationally-recognised G7 Expert certification.”
All processes benefit from the Colour Doctor... |
“G7 Experts are certified in the field of colour management, process and quality control for proofing and printing equipment. A G7 Expert is able to analyse colour and print related issues and take corrective action to bring systems and processes in control to a set method, standard or specification with repeatable predictable results. G7 Expert Certification is valid for 2 years.
“G7 Experts are able to qualify print equipment and facilities as G7 Masters. Certified G7 Experts are required to be onsite to conduct and review calibration data to help the print facility for the first time. Print samples are measured and checked by an international independent lab,” he says.
The training studio incorporates an xrite1iO Generation 3 chart scanning spectrophotometer with i1Pro3 to read P2P, TC1617 and other colour charts; an Epson SureColor P6070, EFI Fiery XF software and high-quality video cameras, special video lighting and mics. Training is conducted via Zoom and participants are limited to between 30 and 40 people.
Dates and costs will be announced soon.
CGS' profiling and ISO certification service is also resuming, with forward bookings already made for early 2021.
