Continuing its acquisitive strategy in wide format, Spicer Group's NZ General Manager, Morgan John, has announced its acquisition of industry supplier Blueprint, effective from February 26th 2021. The buyout is via Spicer's subsidiary Total Supply Ltd, itself acquired in 2014.

In a LinkedIn announcement, John says: "We are pleased to advise that Total Supply Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Spicers NZ Ltd., and Geoff Milliken & Rick Day, the owners of Blueprint Imaging Limited have entered in to a sale agreement. The transaction is scheduled to complete on February 26th 2021, at which time Blueprint will join the Total Supply business."

He continues: "We are delighted to announce this news, the investment makes good on our plans to continually invest in our Paper, Industrial Packaging and Sign & Display businesses. Prior to the completion date in late February 2021, the businesses will continue to operate independently. We will communicate further updates in early 2021, in particular how the businesses will integrate together once the transaction completes. We welcome Geoff, Rick and the team at Blueprint to our business."
Blueprint, founded by Milliken and Day in 1994, has branches in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch and is a leading Mimaki, SwissQprint and other hardware dealer, also with a comprehensive stable of consumable products including 3A Composites, Clear Focus, 3M, Siser, LG Hausys, Neenah Paper, Ritrama and more.
In addition to the 2014 buy of Total Supply Ltd, Spicers NZ bought Sign Technology Ltd in 2017, and now Blueprint in 2021 - representing of a pattern of 'an acquisition every 3-4 years.'
