Majority Aboriginal-owned company Sista Girl Sign & Print, a joint venture partner with one of WA’s largest signage businesses, Jason Signmakers, has been appointed a Certified Supplier for Supply Nation, the provider of the largest national directory of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.

“Congratulations Raquel Todd, co-founder of Sista Girl Sign & Print, we are very excited to be on this journey with you,” said John Mancini, managing director of Perth-based Jason Signmakers. “Sista Girl Sign & Print's purpose is to positively impact the lives of Aboriginal Australians, providing jobs, connecting with businesses, and supporting local Aboriginal Communities. Through Supply Nation, they will have the opportunity to help realise our purpose by building mutually beneficial relationships with organisations seeking to engage Indigenous contractors in the mining, construction and industrial industries.”
Indigenous Business Direct, Supply Nation’s national directory of verified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, includes two categories of businesses: Certified Suppliers with 51% or more Indigenous ownership, and Registered Businesses with 50% or more Indigenous ownership.
Raquel Todd, an Aboriginal woman from the Banyjima and Kariyarra language groups based in the Pilbara, launched Sista Girl in partnership with Jason Signmakers in April last year. The joint venture partners share the same business address: 1 McDowell Street, Welshpool, WA 6106.

“We are fortunate to partner with the Jason Signmakers Group which provides us with access technology and expertise in print and signage technology,” Todd said last year. “I first met and worked alongside John Mancini in 2013. Since then we have been looking for an opportunity to partner together to create a business that can help to improve the lives of Aboriginal people. I am excited about the opportunities this JV presents, particularly our ability to empower Aboriginal women in the print and signage industry.”
Mancini said: “The joint venture with Sista Girl Sign and Print supports Jason Signmakers’ wider mandate for Aboriginal Engagement across the group. Our experienced sign experts will be providing training, coaching and mentorship to the Sista Girl Sign and Print team as they grow their capabilities."
Sista Girl Sign & Print, a majority owned Aboriginal company, provides worksite and road signs as well as business signage and printing, with “a purpose that is driven by 3 pillars of Aboriginal Engagement – workforce, community and supply chain.”
Jason Signmakers started as a Western Australian sheet metal work business in 1932 and has evolved into one of WA’s leading signage companies, with over 80 permanent employees. Jason Signmakers operates out of an 8000sqm facility in Welshpool and offers an integrated service from original concept and design through to manufacturing and installation.
