Industry experts will examine NSW’s response to the National Construction Code, including concerns over combustible cladding regulation, in a free webinar presented by Fairview Australia on 22 April (10am-1pm).
“The Design and Building Practitioners Act forms part of the NSW Government’s response to the Shergold Weir Report, which focused on the shortcomings in the implementation of the National Construction Code following concerns raised at the national level about building defects and combustible cladding,” said Fairview Australia (FVA Group), the manufacturer of aluminium cladding and composite panel systems.
The Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 (NSW) (Act) came into effect on 11 June 2020.
“Register now and don’t miss the opportunity to hear from our line-up of presenters on what the Act entails, what applies now, and what future implications may look like upon the release of regulations,” FVA said.
“With draft regulations for this Act having been released recently, we know that Design Practitioners and Specifiers will be expected to hold more liability in specifying compliant products and subsequently have a significant impact on the design process.”
Webinar presenters will include representatives from the Master Builders Association, Engineers Australia, the Building Designers Association and Joseph Callaghan, Special Counsel with Lander & Rogers, an experienced building and construction lawyer.
The presenters will join a panel during the webinar to answer any questions.
