Colour certification group Fogra has postponed by four months its two-day Colour Symposium scheduled for March 2022 in Munich, citing “the unclear development of the Corona pandemic.” Germany reported an average of more than 51,000 new cases of Covid-19 per day over the last week.
“Fogra had to take this decision after a detailed risk assessment,” said the Fogra Media Technology Research Institute. “Safety first: Fogra's Colour Management Symposium (CMS) scheduled for March next year has been postponed by 4 months and will now be held in Munich from 6-7 July 2022.”
"Regulations around the pandemic are highly dynamic": Dr Andreas Kraushaar, Fogra |
Dr Andreas Kraushaar, Fogra’s head of prepress technology and CMS organiser added: "The decision was made in close dialogue with our sponsors, exhibitors and speakers."
Event exhibitors include EFI, Caldera, X-Rite, ColorLogic and others.
"The CMS attracts numerous participants from Europe, America and Asia,” Kraushaar said. “Our ambition is to host a successful CMS, which is all about international exchange of experience and networking. The unclear COVID-19 developments in various countries continue to restrict travelling. The rules and regulations around the pandemic are highly dynamic and locally regulated, making it even more difficult to organise such an event.
“For July, we expect the infection situation to ease to a stable low level, as it has in previous years. Fogra is now doing its utmost to make the symposium in summer 2022 the event we all want it to be. Fogra also offers participation via live stream. Tickets already purchased remain valid.”
Last week, the European association of screen printing equipment manufacturers (ESMA) cancelled its Industrial Print Integration (IPI) conference set for this month in Düsseldorf, Germany, due to the COVID-19 situation in Europe. The event will now take place in November 2022.
