Using its Employee Relief Fund, print giant Xerox is providing cash grants to employees in Ukraine during the invasion by Russia. Meanwhile, Ricoh joined other printing industry manufacturers in suspending all shipments to Russia and donated over $A1 million to the Red Cross; ink & chemical manufacturer DuPont shut down all business operations in Russia and Belarus.

“We are closely following the devastating conflict in Ukraine and are supporting humanitarian efforts while doing everything we can to keep our employees in the region safe,” Xerox said in a statement from its US headquarters.
“Using our Employee Relief Fund, we’ve provided cash grants to each employee in Ukraine. Xerox has also provided additional contributions to the Red Cross and Save the Children, our international relief partners.
“At the onset of the conflict, we stopped all shipments to Russia, and we are complying with all applicable government-issued sanctions. We continue to closely monitor events and will adapt our response accordingly. We hope for a quick restoration of peace.”
Elsewhere, Ricoh joined HP, Epson, Canon and other industry leaders taking action in response to the Ukraine conflict.
“The violence and speed with which the humanitarian crisis is unfolding across Ukraine and the surrounding area is deeply distressing,” said Ricoh Europe. “Our thoughts are with every person impacted by this deeply shattering conflict. As a result of the conflict, Ricoh has taken the decision to suspend shipments of all devices to Russia. We will continue to fully comply with all sanctions imposed on Russia."
Ricoh is also donating one hundred million Japanese yen ($A1.15m) to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
“Our primary concern is for all those impacted by the conflict," it said. "Ricoh Europe has made a donation to the Red Cross, while our operating companies across Europe are taking action to support the humanitarian crisis through fundraising and other activities. This conflict goes against our founding philosophy and every value we hold dear as a global organisation – we stand shoulder to shoulder in our desire for a swift and peaceful resolution.”
Chemicals manufacturer DuPont has suspended its business operations in Russia and Belarus.
“The safety and security of employees and their families remains DuPont’s highest priority and the company stated it is doing all it can to assist its colleagues in the region,” the company said. “DuPont remains hopeful that a peaceful resolution to this conflict can be achieved quickly.”
