With new data showing a significant jump in NSW sign & graphics apprenticeships over the past year - both commencements and completions - the Australian Sign & Graphics Association (ASGA) has teamed up with AusSIP to lift the profile of the industry at career expos around the country. Also, last call for TAFE briefing sessions this Weds.
“Australian Schools Industry Partnership (AusSIP) will be representing the Australian Sign & Graphics Association (ASGA) over the coming months at a number of career expos in NSW, Victoria, WA, Queensland and South Australia, which are aimed at lifting the profile of the sign industry and generating interest in signage taster courses,” ASGA said.

Last chance for briefing sessions on TAFE NSW’s fee free Trade Pathways for Certificate III in Sign & Graphics
“If you or your staff have industry experience in signage and graphics you may be eligible for a fee free Certificate III qualification under the TAFE NSW Trade Pathways program,” ASGA told its members. “The training is subsidized by the NSW Government thanks to the Trade Pathways Program-Construction Industries Pilot.”

Briefing sessions on this initiative are being run by ASGA Industry Education Liaison Managers AusSIP, where members have an opportunity to ask Paul Richards (TAFE NSW, Head teacher - Signs & Graphics, Painting & Decorating, Cleaning Operations) any questions they may have regarding the program.

Encouraging Apprenticeship Commencements Statistics for NSW
Apprenticeship commencements in the signs and graphics area were up in NSW by 70% over the past year, according to new statistics from the Apprenticeship Engagement Forum (see above). There was also a sharp jump in apprenticeship completions in Sign & Graphics (see table below).
