EFI announced the VUTEk DS Series at Drupa 08 and state that it represents a new category of high-speed digital UV flatbed printer that delivers productivity, image quality and flexibility, while providing a growth path for business needs.

The DS Series can produce 1.6m x 2.4m sellable output at up to 557 m² per hour. Maximum thickness of substrate is 50.8mm.
The user controllable, zoned vacuum table is optimised for standard single graphics or multiple various sized substrates. It also offers an optional advanced material handling system for 100% production improvement, significantly reducing your time for load and unloads.
The printer offers resolutions up to 1200 dpi and up to 8 colours and a wider range of UV ink and substrates such as paper, film, rigid boards, wood and a variety of other specialty materials. It comes with a fully contained ink delivery and innovative auto print head maintenance systems and eliminates unnecessary handling of UV inks.
