Former letterpress printer Jon Dee, the founder of environmental group Planet Ark, will be the keynote presenter at next month’s FESPA Australia annual conference.
“Jon is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most influential figures on change and sustainability issues,” said FESPA Australia. “His business guidebooks have shifted over 140,000 copies. He wrote and presented 115 episodes of his Sky News ‘Smart Money’ TV show where Jon highlighted the latest and best in business efficiency and innovation.
“As the founder of Planet Ark, DoSomething, Rock Aid Armenia and One Tree Per Child, Jon Dee has inspired millions of Australians into making positive social and environmental change. He runs the RE100 initiative where 112 major companies are going 100% renewable with their electricity use.”
Dee was the 2010 Australian of the Year in NSW and was awarded The Order of Honor by the President of Armenia for his Rock Aid Armenia earthquake initiative.
“As someone who started their career as a graphic designer, a letterpress printer and a publisher of a magazine, he has a soft spot for well-designed printed material,” FESPA said. “His belief is that businesses that incorporate sustainability are more resilient, efficient and better prepared for future changes. His experience is that a truly sustainable business is also often a more profitable one too.
“The FESPA Annual Conference brings together internationally recognised thought leaders and industry experts who through interactive panel discussions, global live streaming and in-person presentations, highlight that people, planet, and profit stand as the key considerations for success.”
