The Letterheads in OZ 08 meet will be at Cowra Central West NSW, on the Lachlan River. This year the Keepers of the Craft will be hosted by stalwart Brian Petty of Another Eagle Sign Co.

The Letterheads meets in Australia began at Wagga Wagga 1994 at SmartArtz, hosted by John Rigby and has travelled to other states including Victoria, South Australia and last year Queensland where it was hosted by Ian and Joan Stewart-Koster at Jondaryan, just west of Toowoomba.

How to be a Letterhead: Own a good sign kit of all the right brushes etc., and have a passion to create, put all that together with a like minded group of craftspeople for a three day workshop sharing ideas, hints and tricks of the trade with friends from past meets plus first timers to introduce to the demonstrations and competitions. These meets are for ANYONE - newbies and
oldies alike!  You'll be amazed at the new ideas and techniques you'll bring home, as well as the modest expertise available among the other people attending.  It is a priceless social and networking occasion as well!

letterheads blended logo.gifWorkshops and projects for you to try your hand at include 'walldogging'  the Dunlop Hay Shed, airbrushing, distressed signs faux marbled panels, glass glue chipping with gold leaf, chalk board art, oil marbled panels, pinstriping and the pinline race track for you to prove you're the best (or have a good laugh trying) and there will also be competitions to be voted on.

Lots more will happen including a basic aluminium etching by Ian Stewart-Koster and an A-frame competition sponsored by Troy and Patrick from Sign Sheet Distributors and John Walsh a local painter decorator will be doing a wall of feature deco  methods..ideal for background effects and hopefully a young lady demonstrating how to paint a marble columm.

The Dunlop Hay Shed: would you like to help letter the roof for the DUNLOP Tyres and Batteries Hay Shed. All that's left of the original is situated on the Sydney Road 40kms east of Cowra. The new Custom Orb will be set up on the side wall at Another Eagle Sign workshop in Cowra, complete with scaffold from Orange TAFE and a local painter's help. When complete the shed
will be restored to its original look.

The sign is to be 'DUNLOP Tyres and Batteries' on each side of the roof including the Dunlop logo..commonly know as the flying eye and was originally painted and lettered in 1952, the shed was built 1901 and now there is only a very small section left standing.

The Bar Fridge: If you were the winner of the fridge which will be raffled, how would you like the airbrush job to look? Bring along your scrap book of ideas and give it a go..!!
