The LIA Victoria has issued an open invitation to all people in print to attend the association’s final 2022 meeting and Christmas celebration - including the presentation of the 2022 LIA Victoria Graduate of the Year Awards - to be held at Fujifilm Business Innovation in Burnley on Thursday, 1 December.
The winner will receive a study / career development grant of $3,000 and the chance to compete for the National title at the biennial awards, which will be held in Sydney during the Visual Impact Expo next May. Two runners-up will receive grants of $1,000 each to help them further their education.
Six finalists are vying for the graduate award this year:
Jacinta Allen from Breen Printing,
Rajiv Kumar from Schur Star Systems,
Tan Pham from Andrew Kohn,
Paul Plunkett and Joshua McCormick from Pakaflex,
Zac Soutar from Adams Print.
Robert Black, president of LIA Victoria, said the association was going ahead in ‘leaps and bounds’ since reactivating after the pandemic, with strong interest shown at this year’s PacPrint exhibition in Melbourne.
“The LIA is the association for all people in print and and it was great to connect with so many, from designers and creatives to printers, finishers, business owners and others, on the LIA stand at the show,” Black said.
“One of the LIA’s most important pillars is supporting training and career development and we warmly invite all our industry colleagues to gather to recognise and encourage these young people, who represent the best and brightest of our industry graduates, with the presentation of these important awards…and of course to celebrate with us at the end of another year.”
The meeting will run from 6.30pm at Fujifilm’s Melbourne premises at Botanicca, 588A Swan Street in Burnley.
Entry is free for LIA members (you can find out more or join at lia.com.au) and drinks and light food will be served on the night. To register, please contact Jenny Berry - Jenny.Berry@aigroup.com.au
