The Heidelberg NSW Graduate of the Year is Jervis Tsui of Frontline Printing, Artarmon, Sydney. Along with other state winners over the past 2 years, he is now in the finals for the $15,000 national biennial LIA - Visual Connections educational award, to be presented on 4th May, during the Visual Impact Expo and sponsored by Heidelberg, Ball & Doggett and Visual Connections.
Presented yearly in each state, the LIA Graduate of the Year Awards are the longest running continuous awards of the Institute, dating back to 1972, when it was known as the LIA Apprentice of the Year – Sponsored by Heidelberg Australia. This award is presented annually in each mainland state at special award presentation dinners. Heidelberg provides handsome award plaques to the winners and certificates to the employer.
Every two years, Heidelberg funds the air fares and accommodation of the winning state graduates to the LIA’s Biennial conference. There, apart from active participation in the conference program, they are individually interviewed by a national judging panel of eminent industry leaders and a winner is selected to receive the $15,000 Visual Connections – LIA National Graduate Scholarship Prize. This year, it occurs during the Visual Impact Expo in Sydney in the evening of Thursday 4th May, sponsored by Heidelberg, Visual Connections and Ball & Doggett. (Tickets cost just $30 HERE)
Jervis Tsui said he was honoured to be awarded NSW graduate of the year for 2023 and receive the Heidelberg/LIA award. Without exception, when they come together, their spirit and enthusiasm is infectious. They are hosted by major printing companies, who provide informative plant tours and hospitality, they get to know each other and in some cases form lasting friendships. New Sponsor Ball & Goggett has donated $5,000 as a 'Future Leaders' Award, also presented on the night.
