The New Zealand Sign & Display Association’s 2023 Sign + Print Expo (6-8 July) will include the Hexis Wrap Challenge, the Kiwi Car Wrap, and conference sessions on AI & chat bots and tikanga (Māori customary practices).
“The last industry Expo was held in 2018, 5 years ago and a lot has changed since then with products, technologies, and machinery,” said the NZSDA. “Our 25 Exhibitors are pumped to showcase their new products coming to the market ... so get along, it is all FREE, including the parking.
“We have lots on with the Hexis Wrap Shield Challenge coming over from Australia. We will hold 15-minute wrap heats throughout the 2 days, four at a time will compete in this challenge, it will be judged accordingly and the best times move through to the finals on Saturday morning to compete with the top 2 finalists from Australia. Also, the Kiwi Car Wrap is back, proudly sponsored by 3M Films, and donating the vehicles is FORD! They are pumped to be a part of this competition and are supplying us with four of their brand-new unregistered Ford Escape Hybrids.
“The NZSDA will hold its Sign Makers Conference (5-7 July) in Auckland in conjunction with the Sign + Print Expo, beginning with its AGM at the Due Drop Event Centre. Following the AGM is invite-only Expo Exposed, which is the opening of the Sign + Print Expo. It is a meet, greet and eat event for special guests including conference delegates, exhibitors, and key stakeholders from Sign & Print, plus aligning industries such as Architectural Designers, Shopfitters, fabricators, and Retail experts.
“Conference delegates will take the day off-site on Thursday to view manufacturing and large-scale print businesses in action and how they create, make, and have implemented some fantastic innovative processes within their businesses.
“Friday will be based at the Sign + Print Expo, to begin with, a series of speakers will cover hot topics that we need to consider and be aware of now and in the future for our industry, such as AI and how this can enhance your business workflow, Maori Culture and what it means for our industry, Storytelling – how to promote sustainable practices without greenwashing and why short-form video such as reels is becoming a dominant method of communication for businesses and how it can benefit yours. To conclude this day the conference delegates will come together at a tour and dinner event not to be missed at the Weta Unleashed Venue at Sky City Auckland.”
