To support the launch in Australia of the Océ CS9160, is promoting a “Think Opportunity Think Océ” trade-in offer, giving users a considerable discount on their outdated wide format printer to move up to the new Océ CS9160. Users can log on to www.thinkopportunityoce.com

The new 1620mm (64 inch ) wide format printer, which replaces the popular Océ CS9060, builds on that printer’s proven reliability whilst offering increased productivity. With a new maximum print speed of over 18m2/hr and the ability to now support 440mL ink cartridges, the Océ CS9160 printer can now offer longer unattended print runs.

The Océ CS9160 also incorporates Océ’s advanced print technologies – CS9000 VariaDot imaging technology, which generates ink drops with variable drop sizes to deliver finer details, smoother gradients and sharper images.
This, in conjunction with the ever-popular Océ Wave stitching, which prints in waves instead of straight bands, resulting in higher print quality and elimination of “banding” effects.

Adrian Morris, Product Manager Display Graphics / Imaging Supplies, for Océ-Australia Limited, says the Océ CS9160 is a great first step into eco solvent printing for short to medium volume users.

“It’s a versatile printer designed for environments where both high quality output and outdoor durable output is required from the same device. Many customers who have first generation wide format equipment know it is time to update to stay competitive. Older wide format equipment is less likely to achieve the print quality of today’s printers and is often much more expensive to run due to slow speeds and reliability issues. With updated equipment such as the Océ CS9160, customers with a moderate budget can jump into the latest and greatest which is imperative to staying competitive and growing within the industry.”

Morris says that eco-solvent inks offer customers the outdoor benefits of solvent inks, while making use possible in a regular office or small print shop environment. There are no hidden costs for an optional air purification or ventilation system.

The eco-solvent inks used in the Océ CS9160 offer an outdoor durability of up to three years, without lamination,” he says

Wide format users who want to see the Océ CS9160 in action can arrange for a demonstration or watch it go through its paces at the Visual Impact Image Expo in Sydney October 30th to November 1st 2008.”
