Celmac's event to launch the new HP Latex 630 entry-level Latex printer, held at Rydge's Camperdown, Sydney last week, attracted around 20 attendees over three sessions to see and inspect the new 64" printer with white ink.

The HP Latex 630 is available in both CMYK + light inks and Optimiser & Clearcoat versions, and CMYK, lC, lM, W, Optimiser and Clearcoat versions - nine channels in all. Speeds of up to 14 m2/hr are achievable - higher in draft modes. The Latex 630 is HP's lowest-cost option for entry into water-based Latex printing at 64" (1.63M).

Resolution is up to 1200 x 1200 dpi and it features a total of six printheads. Contour cutting for labels is off-line with a separate unit.

Celmac's Rumney comments: "Overall it was a good day. Lots of interest in the new HP Latex 630 series of printers and cutters, plus some of the new online services that HP have launched at the same time as the new hardware. I have been busy doing up several quotes so I expect a good return of investment on the Open House."
