The onQ Team recently completed some Transparent LED Film installations for an iconic shopping and entertainment precinct in Melbourne, Australia. LED thin, 2-4mm film is an exciting new move for the Signage and Display industry.
onQ was engaged by Vicinity Centres to help bring to life their new Social Quarter precinct at Chadstone, Melbourne's Fashion Capital and Australia's first real shopping centre.
The first installation involved applying the Transparent LED Film to the internal surface of the glass lift shaft at entry to the Social Quarter. The use of Traditional LED would not have been possible in this area due to limited space within the lift shaft however the LED Film was the perfect solution. At only 2mm thickness and applied directly to the glass no additional framework or structure was required.
Similarly the second installation in the food and beverage precinct made use of the existing glass façade and required no bulky framework or structural modifications to the installation site.
About Transparent LED Film
Transparent LED film is a revolutionary technology that is changing approaches to displays and advertising. It is a flexible, thin sheet of LEDs that can be installed on virtually any surface, making it incredibly versatile and easy to use. The technology behind transparent LED film is fascinating and understanding how it works can help you appreciate its many benefits.
Transparent LED film is essentially a film made up of thousands of tiny LED lights that are fixed onto a perforated fiberglass substrate material. The film can display images, videos, and other visual content while still allowing for transparency, which makes it ideal for use in retail and commercial spaces where branding and aesthetics are of utmost importance.
One of the most impressive things about transparent LED film is that it can be installed on virtually any surface, including windows, walls, and even curved surfaces. This means that it can be used in a wide range of settings, from retail stores and restaurants to museums and corporate offices.
How Does Transparent LED Film Work?
Transparent LED film works by using a process called SMD (Surface-Mount Device) technology. This technology allows for the LEDs to be mounted directly onto a flexible sheet of fibrerglass substrate, creating a clear, vibrant image or video display. The LEDs emit light through a diffusion layer on the film, which creates a stunning visual effect that captures the attention of anyone passing by.
One of the most impressive things about transparent LED film is its ability to display high-quality images and videos while still allowing for transparency. This means that it can be used in a wide range of settings, from storefront windows to museum exhibits.
The technology behind transparent LED film also allows for the film to be cut to custom sizes and shapes, which means it can be easily integrated into any space or design. This makes it a highly versatile and flexible option for anyone looking to incorporate dynamic displays into their space.
In conclusion, transparent LED film is an innovative technology that is changing the way industry professionals think about displays and advertising. Its ability to display high-quality images and videos while still allowing for transparency makes it a highly versatile and flexible option for anyone looking to incorporate dynamic displays into their space.
