Epson F1060 Front with Open Cover As a logical addition to its SureColor F-Series printer line-up, the SC-F1060 has been designed to open new doors for event operators, clothing retailers, print-for-pay providers and artisans.

Combining easy operation and flexible performance in one space saving package, the SC-F1060 is designed to provide a solution for retail and event environments.

Delivering professional image quality in a cost-effective package, it also offers an excellent solution for designers, creatives and merchandise manufacturers.

Epson Australia business marketing manager, professional print solutions Gordon Kerr explained, “DTG has traditionally been the home of professional producers and high volume ‘back-office’ manufacturers and solutions have been relatively large, complex and expensive. Epson has taken the best of its DTG technology and distilled it into a compact, cost-effective and flexible solution that is easy-to-use and easy-to-maintain. It is ideal for the modern retail environment where product needs to be fresh, timely and individualised.”

The SC-F1060 is a hybrid printer that addresses the rise of businesses looking to provide customised goods and t-shirts. The unit features an enclosed design with interior lighting and a clear viewing window to enhance the printing process. Epson F1060 retail store

Integrated DTG and DTFilm support allows operators to go beyond traditional natural-fibre t-shirt printing. Imaging onto film enables transfer onto a wide variety of materials, including man-made fabric and uniquely shaped items, further expanding the ability to create customised product offerings.

Featuring a PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead with Nozzle Verification Technology and next generation UltraChrome DG2 ink with CMYK+White, the SureColor F1060 delivers vibrant colour with incredible detail and consistent output.

The inclusion of white ink prints enables output on dark garments along with enhanced presentation on light garments. The combination of the Epson ink, Epson head and Epson imaging technology enables outstanding clarity with near photographic print quality. The cartridge-free ink-pack system simplifies operation while enhancing productivity, reducing waste and mess.

The SC-F1060 features a large touch screen interface, fully automatic garment height adjustment and a self-cleaning print head for easy production with minimal maintenance. It ships complete with software and supports fabric up to one-inch thick.

Kerr concludes: “The SureColor F1060 offers new opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses, giving them the ability deliver quality product in the right format, at the time and place where the customer is in an optimal buying mood.”

Switch to renewables complete

In othr Epson news, Epson has announced that, as of December 2023, all electricity used at Epson Group sites around the globe1 is from renewable sources. This makes Epson the first in the Japanese domestic manufacturing industry to complete the transition to renewable electricity at all of its sites worldwide.

The Epson Group consumes approximately 876 GWh3 of electricity per year. By sourcing renewables to cover this demand, Epson expects to reduce its annual carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 400,000 tonnes.

Epson publicly committed to becoming carbon negative and underground resource free in its Environmental Vision 2050. The use of renewable electricity is a key means by which Epson seeks to reach its goal of achieving decarbonisation.

In line with this, Epson declared, in March 2021, that it would switch to 100% renewable electricity to meet the electricity needs at all Epson Group sites around the world by 2023. In November 2021, the switch was completed in Japan. The global switch to renewable electricity was completed on schedule in December 2023.

In addition to sourcing renewable electricity, Epson will promote the broader adoption of renewable energy, including by generating more of its own power and by supporting the development of new power sources through co-creation5. Epson will reduce the amount of energy associated with production and products and will pursue further advances in resource circulation to attain the goal of becoming carbon negative.

Global President Yasunori Ogawa said, "For eight decades, Epson has demonstrated a proactive approach to environmental action. We have maintained the founder's commitment to preserving the cleanliness of nearby Lake Suwa and became the world's first company to eliminate CFCs from our manufacturing processes. Now we have successfully completed the switch to 100% renewable electricity at all Epson Group sites in just two years and ten months since declaring our commitment to doing so in 2021. This will not only help us to achieve our own goals but will also help to facilitate a broader adoption of renewable electricity within society by spreading awareness. Our goal of realising social sustainability is a bigger issue, one fraught with difficulty, but we will act with determination to address the issues with a spirit of creativity and challenge."

Epson believes that its philosophy of efficient, compact and precise innovation enriches lives and helps create a better world and it will continue to engage in practices that are aligned with this purpose, thereby advancing toward its aspirational goal of achieving sustainability and enriching communities in tandem with its customers and partners.
