Visual Connections has announced it will hold dinner events in both Sydney and Melbourne in June, collaborating with the LIA and FPLMA to bring the industry post-drupa briefings and to host the presentation of the NSW and Victorian 2024 LIA Graduate of the Year Awards presentations.
The Sydney event is scheduled for the evening of Thursday 20 June 2024, with the Melbourne event on the following Tuesday 25 June, 2024.
Visual Connections General Manager Sarah Moore will give a short post-drupa overview in Sydney, with a similar introduction provided by the supplier association’s Marketing & Communications Manager, Robyn Frampton, in Melbourne. Both are attending drupa on behalf of Visual Connections.
Each introduction will be followed by input from a number of professionals from across the print, sign and visual communications sector who have returned from drupa, and will share their individual perspectives on trends, innovations and emerging technologies to give attendees a real feel from ‘on the ground’ in Düsseldorf.
There will also be a strong focus on new talent, consistent with Visual Connections’ education mandate and the consistently strong focus on training and graduates from both the LIA and the FPLMA.
The post-drupa event will coincide with the announcement of the winners of the LIA Graduate of the Year Awards in both States, who will receive their certificates and prizes –during a special presentation ceremony during the dinner. The Awards are sponsored by Heidelberg, Visual Connections and the Collie Trust.
“There will be a lot to discuss coming out of drupa, and we look forward to bringing a taste of that back for those who were unable to attend, and also to celebrating with some of this year’s leading graduates as we recognise their achievements,” says Sarah Moore.
“Final venue and speaker details are being finalised and will be released in the next few days, but I would encourage anyone – particularly those who are not able to get to drupa – to mark the dates in their diary now to make sure they are there to hear all the latest and to encourage and celebrate with the leaders of the future.”
More details and booking links for each event will be released soon. In the meantime, those interested can preregister by emailing exhibitions@visualconnections.org.au.
