LIA Victoria held their Annual General Meeting on Monday 14th October, with elections returning an almost unchanged committee line-up to take the association into the new year.
Robyn Frampton, who works with the Visual Connections association, was re-elected as President, with Jaz Allen from Breen Printing continuing as Vice President. Jenny Berry from Australian Industry Group continues as Secretary, while Brett Maishman from Fujifilm Business Innovation, steps into the Treasurer’s role. The committee is completed by more long-term members – David Galbraith, from JDA Print Recruitment, and retirees Lindsay Banks and Robert Black.
“It is really only a few years since we reconvened our LIA committee following a period of inactivity that culiminated with COVID,” says Frampton, adding: “This group has been so important in reinvigorating our activities in Victoria, so I am extremely pleased that they have agreed to continue into 2025. These positions are voluntary, so their willingness to spend time and effort on our activities really speaks to their commitment to our sector.”
The AGM gave members the chance to look back at the 2023-24 year, which has seen significant progress in operations and profile, and to look forward to the plans which are underway for next year.
“We are excited to kick off our 2024-25 program with the upcoming visit to Marvel Bookbinding & Print Finishing on 7th November, and we are already in discussions with some other big names to host technical events in 2025,” says Frampton.
“We are also about to commence the LIA Victoria Graduate of the Year program, with winners announced in the first half of next year, ahead of the biennial LIA National Graduate of the Year presentations.
“We hope the new year will see further collaboration between LIA state bodies, and with our fellow industry associations, enabling us all to deliver even better value to our members and the wider industry.”
