Caldera has announced the release of PrimeCenter 3.3, the latest version of its prepress software for large format printing and cutting. This update brings new capabilities to users by introducing drivers for a wider range of cutting devices, becoming increasingly 'cutter agnostic.'

Caldera PrimeCentre 3.3Towards a 'cutter agnostic' workflow environment: Caldera PrimeCentre 3.3

PrimeCenter 3.3 introduces two key drivers that expand the software's integration with a broader range of cutters, thanks to new partnerships with Secabo and Supply55 to provide the Secabo driver, and also Euro-Systems to provide the OptiScout driver. This builds on the momentum of earlier integrations with Kongsberg, DXF, and HPGL drivers, as well as its longstanding support for Zünd Cut Center (ZCC). By continuing to add drivers for more devices, PrimeCenter is strategically positioning itself as both RIP-agnostic and now increasingly cutter-agnostic, giving users maximum flexibility when managing diverse production setups.ExpressCut Pro DTF cutterDTF film shape cutters are important in the burgeoning DTF heat transfer sector. PrimeCenter 3.3 introduces a driver for the Secabo DTF MultiCut Pro (also known as the ExpressCutPRO in the USA), an automatic cutter designed for Direct-to-Film (DTF) workflows. This new feature allows users to export cut files tailored specifically for the Secabo DTF MultiCut Pro (Australian distrubutor FlexiPrint), enabling precise, automated DTF cutting and reducing the need for manual processes. With this integration, users will experience a streamlined workflow and improved production speed.

Chase Pender, Business Developer at Supply55, says: “We are excited for the integration of ExpressCutPRO and PrimeCenter. By combining Caldera’s powerful workflow automation with the precision cutting of ExpressCutPRO, we’re confident that this collaboration will offer users an enhanced production experience, improving both efficiency and output quality.”

Furthermore, PrimeCenter now supports OptiScout (available through Zünd Australia) - a modular optical recognition software system for multifunctional flatbed machines - making it compatible with a wide variety of cutting devices from several manufacturers like Colex, Bullmer and Hasler. With this new driver, PrimeCenter users will be able to export cut files compatible with their OptiScout cutter controllers, opening the door to more efficient, high-precision production in environments that utilize these devices.

Frank Thömmes, CTO at Euro-Systems, says: “With over 30 years of expertise in the cut software market, Euro-Systems is excited to collaborate with Caldera on integrating the OptiScout OXF interface into Caldera PrimeCenter. This partnership will strengthen both companies' presence in the print-and-cut workflow market.”

In addition to the new drivers, PrimeCenter 3.3 introduces several user experience improvements. The ability to save incomplete recipes for future configuration allows users to continue setting up workflows later without losing progress. Plus, the improved registration mark spacing algorithm ensures more accurate and reliable cutting across different devices.

PrimeCenter 3.3 is available now through CalderaDock, Caldera’s dedicated software management application.
