50 years Epson brandIn the label printing industry, there is an ever-increasing need for high-mix, small-lot production and quick turnaround times, and the shift to digital printing is accelerating. Through the SurePress L-5034, Epson further underscores its commitment to digital labels, and to offering print businesses flexible and more sustainable options to support their shift from analogue to digital printing.

The new SurePress L-5034 inherits the features of the previous SurePress series in a new, water-based ink digital label printing platform, engineered for higher productivity without compromising print quality, which makes it a potentially strong choice for label converters looking to increase productivity and operational efficiency.

The press is also equipped with newly developed PrecisionCore printhead and optimiser liquid technology, to deliver a native resolution of 1200dpi, ensuring high image quality for fine details, small text and smooth gradations.

By ejecting high-definition ink drops and controlling high-precision drop placement, Epson’s proprietary automated real-time nozzle verification technology (NVT) along with a nozzle compensating system ensures more consistent image quality throughout a print run, without any interruptions, further enhancing overall productivity. It also has a newly designed automated printhead cleaning system, which minimises operator intervention and manual maintenance to maximise uptime and increase efficiency. Alongside the new cleaning technology is a sophisticated camera system, which enables automatic image quality adjustments when printheads are replaced, improving operational efficiency and maximising uptime.

A robust web transport system enables the SurePress L-5034 handle a web width of 340mm and accommodate high capacity rolls up to 120kg, which allows direct printing on a wide range of label paper and film materials. An intuitive user interface makes operation straightforward, without the need for specialised skills or training.

The new press will be commercially available locally from early 2026.
