A few weeks on from opening up its exhibitor registration, drupa (9-17th May 2028, Messe Düsseldorf) has launched a new online digital knowledge platform – drupa insights - developed in cooperation with Alliance Insights, the research division of Printing United Alliance, to deliver in-depth analyses of technological developments, market changes and economic trends across the international printing and packaging industry.

Explaining that drupa insights has been based on the former Global Trends Report concept, essentially transforming this report into an ongoing digital publishing format, Sabine Geldermann, director of Drupa, portfolio print technologies at Messe Düsseldorf, says: “Our goal is to support companies in strategically navigating industry transformation by pooling international expertise and creating a reliable foundation for market and future analyses.”
Aligned with current industry trends, in its initial ‘launch’ form, drupa insights is heavily focused on:
- the growing importance of label and packaging printing;
- advances in artificial intelligence and robotics; and
- the increasing automation of production processes.
Moving forward, instead of an annual report, drupa organisers say that ‘the new platform will offer regularly updated content that addresses developments in a timely manner and provides structured analysis’. drupa insights also forms part of the 2028 event’s over-arching strategic repositioning, as a component part of the thematic LEARN cluster.
With drupa insights, drupa strengthens its role as a central hub for knowledge exchange and networking – not only during the trade fair itself, but throughout the entire innovation cycle of the industry. Access to the platform is available through a one-time, free registration here on the drupa website.
