Autofilm of New South Wales have introduced the Daytona T600UV into our market.
Made in the USA, the Daytona T600UV is being called an entry level machine for those companies that are new to flatbed UV printers. It's a low cost unit but according to Colin Amery of Autofilm the machine does not lack in any of the essentials, including speed.
It is capable of producing print on a wide range of substrates at up to 22 square metres per hour and can also produce photo quality prints at up to 1080 dpi, utilising 6 colours plus white.
The printer consists of a stationary 1.52 metre x 1.22 metre vacuum table to hold the substrate while printing and a movable print head carriage gantry.
The print head comprises 6 M Class Fujifilm Dimatix print heads and two UV mercury vapour lamps for fixing the inks. The inkset can be configured to CMYK LtC LtM or CMYK+ white.
The UV inks offer excellent light fastness and adhesion to a wide variety of materials including core flute, acrylic, PVC, aluminium, ceramics etc and the adjustable head height allows for a media thickness of up to
50 mm.
The Daytona is supplied with a powerful PC work station running an EFI Fiery RIP, which includes industry specific options such as spot colour matching.
Both the Daytona printer and the Fiery RIP are supported by a team of factory trained technicians and locally available spare parts and consumable items.
The machine will be on the DES stand at the VIIE show in October at Darling Harbour.
