Good news for wide format printers, potentially, as it may open an advertising vehicle to reach the media industry.
This week sees the launch of Media i, a new and unique industry initiative developed by Australian Media Channel in conjunction with the Media Federation of Australia.
A world-first, Media i is an innovative digital screen network that delivers industry news and information as well as world news, business, sport, entertainment and weather updates into the offices of MFA members.
Located primarily amongst work stations, receptions, and break out areas of media agencies, the network also enables agencies to remotely publish their own content to the screens on either a local or national level.
“As the communication industry we are constantly seeking out innovative ways to connect specific audience segments with information and this medium is a perfect example of doing exactly that, at a time and in an environment that is most relevant,” said Gary Hardwick, President of the Media Federation of Australia.
“It provides media professionals with up-to-date information in a dynamic format and allows media owners to have constant and effective communication with media agency personnel.”
Carol Morris, executive director MFA, says Media i also provides an immediate communication tool for the MFA to its members. “In an era where agencies are bombarded with email newsletters, Media i provides a unique environment to communicate with our members and to remind them of the many ongoing initiatives coming from the MFA.”
The network’s infotainment and industry news is updated constantly throughout the day ensuring up to the moment, fresh and engaging content.
The agency specific contents can also be updated every five minutes enabling agencies to use the network as an electronic bulletin board with staff announcements such as promotions, profiles, birthdays as well as agency news.
“Media i has been developed specifically to enhance communication within the media industry,” said Charles Parry-Okeden, CEO at Australian Media Channel.
“The continuing proliferation of media channels means that media professionals have more options than ever before – as such, they have less time to explore the plethora of options available for them and their clients.
“Media i allows media owners to have constant, dynamic and effective communication with increasingly elusive media agency personnel. Already several media owners including the likes of ACP, Foxsports.com.au, Eyecorp and MCN have signed up to Media i,” said Mr Parry-Okeden.
Media i will initially deploy 150 large format screens nationally across 36 MFA member media agencies which collectively employ over 1500 media specialists and represent over 75% of the market.
