New ink brings significant performance and flexibility expanding UV applications for users of world’s most popular superwide format hybrid printers.
EFI has announced the availability of QS Series 2 Ink, the next generation of UV inks for the company’s successful QS2000 and QS3200 superwide format printers. These inks are available for use with all newly purchased QS2000 and QS3200 printers. Installed printers can be upgraded in a phased conversion roll-out.
“EFI is committed to continuously expanding the business opportnities for its VUTEk customers, and the QS Series 2 Ink is an example of that commitment in action,” said Scott Schinlever, general manager and vice president of EFI Ink Business. “Extensive pre-launch testing by customers, printing revenue-generating jobs, reflects significantly improved performance and flexibility on a wide range of materials as compared to traditional QS UV-curable inks. In a challenging economic environment, such as we face today, customers are looking for new sources of revenue, and these next generation inks add new capabilities that will enable them to develop those new sources.”
The result is finished output with incredible quality and durability, including brilliant flags and banners that will hang more uniformly and consistently, and eye-popping rigid output that will not chip or crack during post production cutting and routing steps. These enhancements will enable an expanded list of substrates as new materials are tested in the future.
Recognised as 2007’s best superwide format printer of the year by the EDP (European Digital Press Association), the versatile QS3200 is a 3.2 meter printer that offers superior image quality on both rigid and flexible substrates up to 126 inches (3.2 meters) wide and up to two inches (5.08 cm) thick, with changeover from flexible to rigid substrates in less than a minute. The QS2000 offers the same characteristics in an 80-inch (2 meter) printing width.
