Europe's latest printer manafacturer has launched two new models this last month or so to address different market requirements.
Firstly, the new Xplorer 33UVs. This is a 3.3 metre roll to to roll machine utilising 6-colours with Spectra 128 inkjet printing heads, adjustable between 3 mm and 5 mm above the media. The media tension can be adapted to accommodate different types of substrates, such as vinyl, window film, polyester, etc. The printing speed ranges from 15 sq. m to 50 sq. m per hour.
Ink is supplied at 300 ml per minute from a main tank that holds 4 litres per colour.
The Augend Xplorer 33 UVs is equipped with the most sophisticated parameters to provide a high level of flexibility in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast growing digital market. said CEO, Luc Teblick. Market response on its predecessor the Augend Xplorer 33s has been excellent, the UV version now offers a greater versatility to our customer base through a wider substrate choice.
Then the Augend RF20 has also been launched with first sale to a Swedish printer.
The RF20 is a fully automated flatbed inkjet press that accommodates rigid media formats with a maximum size of 2.1 x 3.2 m (82.68 x 125.98), weighing more than 100 kg (220 lbs.) with automatic loading capabilities up to 15 kg (33 lbs.). Flexible media can be loaded from
stock rolls up to 2 m (78.74) wide and with an external diameter up to 140 cm
(55), weighing 1500 kg (3306 lbs.) maximum. Thanks to the in-line X/Y trimming capabilities, printed paper can be delivered as finished cut sheets on a pallet, ready for shipment.
The Augend RF20 is equipped with a 4-colour printing engine that can either host 96 Spectra S-series jet packs with 80 or 30 picoliter nozzles, or 48 Spectra Nova twin jetting assemblies with 2 x 128 nozzles of 75 picoliter. The printing resolution, as well as the printing speed, depends on the type of print head and the amount of picoliter delivered per nozzle.
Resolutions of up to 1.200 dpi can be achieved. The Augend RF20 is expected to run at an
unsurpassed maximum speed of more than 540 sq. m (5,813 sq. ft.) per hour putting it in the same league as the powerful Augend F16 (operating at a maximum speed of up to 540 sq. m or 5,813 sq. ft.).
Another key feature is the Augend RF20's economical ink consumption UV curable inks are delivered from 10 l refillable tanks for each color. Other standard features include automatic centering of the media during printing, and unattended cleaning of the printing heads. A vacuum controlled printing table ensures complete flatness of the media, which is an absolute requirement for sustaining a consistent quality, even at the highest production
speeds.
Luc Teblick concludes With the Augend RF20 we offer our customers three major advantages: a high level of automation: the operator loads the materials, fills the ink reservoirs and starts up the machine, which can continue working for days without any human intervention. The second key benefit is its unsurpassed printing speed of 540 sq. m (5,813 sq. ft.) per hour.
Thirdly the economical ink consumption leads to significant cost savings in the long run. We are convinced that the Augend RF20 will easily find its way to the market and offer customers a major competitive edge.
