Anitech will launch a major upgrade to the water based Drytac AFC1600 and AFC2200 coater lines.
The new liquid laminators are being introduced as a solution to UV degradation, a common problem for many Australian sign makers.

As Neil Gomez, Business Development Manager Finishing Products for Anitech says “Australian signage has to endure some of the toughest weather on the planet, as we have all witnessed in the past few months. Harshest of all is the UV radiation that will fade and damage every unprotected image over time - regardless of inks.”

Anitech technical staff advise that UV protection can only be gained by using a film or liquid lamination finish. Industry experience has shown that liquid lamination is both quicker and cheaper than traditional film lamination and Drytac, with its AFC range of liquid coaters, has made operator usability the first priority with the launch of their upgraded AFC1600 and AFC2200 lamination systems.

“The new Drytac AFC1600 and AFC2200 systems have major technical improvements” notes Neil “each with the specific aim of making production workflow easier, faster and more productive.”

New features include an end of roll sensor that triggers an audible alarm, alerting the operator that the roll is ending, activating the auto pump shut off and the auto run out systems.

The auto pump shut-off limits the amount of coating in the trough, reducing the amount of drippage and clean up from the roll end and minimising clean up. A mylar sheet, placed on the front of the machine below the Mayer bar, directs coating drips off the roll into the return tray.

A variable speed adjustment for the heater fans allowing operators to accurately control fan speed and compensate for individual building microclimate conditions to maximise dryer effectiveness. The fan speed system is accessed through the forward mounted control panel.

A quick release feature for the Mayer bar permits quick, easy removal and replacement of dirty Mayer bars without the use of tools - simplifying clean up, saving time and operator stress.

An auto run-out function where a roller set, incorporated into a mechanical arm, is applied to the material as it exits the dryer area which effectively acts as a person holding the material in check as it finishes drying through the end of the roll. The run-out facility reduces the trailing-end leader length minimising waste and reducing the requirement for operator attention while the coating process is completed.

Fans for the reverse side of paper permitting directional cooling on the reverse of SAV materials - this can eliminate back side wax transfer onto coated surfaces when using materials that have LDPE liners.

Anitech will be demonstrating the AFC1600 and AFC 2200’s new features and the Drytac aqueous liquid laminate range at Anitech showrooms across Australia. For further details and orders contact Neil Gomez on Freecall 1300 133 029.
