Training for the printing industry will be under the spotlight when Southbank Institute of Technology’s Queensland School of Printing and Graphic Arts (QSPGA) stages its open day on Wednesday, 8 August.
Institute Director Craig Sherrin said the QSPGA Open Day would allow visitors to explore careers in the printing industry.
“As well as touring the QSPGA training facilities, they will be able to participate in hands-on activities in areas ranging from screen printing to print finishing,” he said.
“Demonstrations will include book restoration, T-shirt screen printing and creating your own business cards.”
QSPGA delivers training in:
graphic pre-press
print machining
print finishing
screen printing
signwriting
editing and publishing.
“QSPGA is recognised by industry as the leading provider of printing and graphic arts training in the state,” Mr Sherrin said.
“We offer the training which can help young people or those wanting to change their careers to get a foot on the ladder to success in one of Australia’s growing high-tech industries.
“Our modern equipment and facilities, coupled with our high-quality, industry-relevant training, create a learning environment for students that is as close as possible to actual workplace.”
