Printing Industries Victorian and Tasmanian SGP co-ordinator Bruce Lowery, said he was delighted with the continued ‘greening’ by printing companies of country Victoria.
Jamesprint Quality Assurance and Environmental Officer, Paula Miani, managed her companies certification project over the 12 months and described the final audit and certification as a two-fold achievement.
“We’ve achieved our aim to be pro-active business leaders with responsible sustainability,” she said.
“Reducing excess waste and introducing improved manufacturing processes within our business has fulfilled our obligation to the region, community and to our environment.”
Sunnyland Press General Manager Paul Cox was equally pleased with their achievement and the additional benefits it brought to the staff.
“The SGP program has had a most productive and positive impact by reducing waste and saving money in many areas of our business,” he said.
“Indeed many of the staff have been so impressed by some of the energy saving activities undertaken within the company that they have implemented similar activities in their homes as well.”
