Shane Lucas, Director HP Graphic Arts South Pacific announced the appointment of Phillip Burns to the company’s Graphic Solutions Business (GSB) team.
Burns will take on the newly created role of Business Development Manager, HP Scitex.
Lucas welcomed Burns to the team. “Phillip is a well-known industry identity who comes to the position with a raft of experience in digital printing. Having been a business owner of a digital print company Phillip is well versed in the practical applications for this technology and the market opportunities. It is this experience that we see directly benefitting our customers”.
Phillip has more than 15 years experience in the digital print market. His involvement began with the emergence of digital textile printing and he is recognised as one of the key drivers of this technology in the Australian market. As a business owner Burns was also an early adopter of Grand Format technology including solvent and UV platforms.
Burns is recognised by many in the industry for his association with one of the leading grand format purveyors for the past four years responsible for assisting many customers with technology selections.
He says, “The experience of owning my own business and investing in technology combined with my involvement in helping other companies to buy equipment has given me a strong empathy to the purchasing decision of users, both in terms of the right solutions for their needs and the most realistic way to afford the best product”.
