New application and sustainability education for HP Latex customers
HP continues to invest in the development of the PSP ecosystem through application and sustainability education for HP Latex customers. This enables the PSPs to boost their competitive advantage in sustainability practices, aiding them to win business from customers who are becoming increasingly environmentally conscious in their business operations.
Now available through HP Capture, HP Latex University provides PSPs with training to successfully produce a wide range of outdoor and indoor wide format graphics applications using HP Latex Printing Technologies.
By signing into HP Latex University at www.hp.com/go/hplatexuniversity, PSPs can access free application workshops led by specialists, online webinars and other tools that help maximize the use of their technology. The first webinar series kicks off in November and focuses on producing vehicle graphics and textiles.
Also available through HP Capture, all HP Latex Printing Technologies users can now participate in the free HP EcoSolutions Trained Printing Company program. This downloadable training is available in 10 languages to coach PSPs to take advantage of the environmental profile of their HP Latex printers, build an ongoing commitment to sustainability within their businesses and engage clients on their sustainability goals.
PSPs that complete the training will receive a framed certificate and an icon identifying them as an HP EcoSolutions Trained Printing Company that they may use for promotional purposes. More information is available at www.hp.com/ecosolutions/tpc.
UV printing systems and inks deliver quick return on investment
Suitable for outdoor and indoor applications such as billboards, building coverings and exhibition graphics, the HP Scitex XP5500 and HP Scitex XP2500 Industrial Printers are ideal for high-volume PSPs that require a reliable, 24/7 printing solution.
Offering a combination of low-cost-per-square foot printing at industry-leading speeds(2), the HP Scitex XP5500 Industrial Printer prints up to 325 m2/hr in billboard mode using HP Specialty Billboard Scitex Ink. Additionally, PSPs can increase their return on investment through better ink coverage than comparable solvent and UV-ink printing systems, and with the ability to print on a wide range of media.
The HP Scitex XP2500 Industrial Printer offers a low cost per square foot at print speeds up to 265 m2/hr. Customers can choose one of the new print modes that use HP Specialty Billboard Scitex Ink for high ink coverage, enabling PSPs to produce billboards or close-view applications without switching inks. This specially formulated ink provides media versatility and operational efficiency for a variety of outdoor and indoor applications.
HP also will offer HP Scitex XP5300 and XP2300 Upgrade Packages for existing customers who want improved versatility.
Delivering high productivity on a range of flexible and rigid media for applications such as 3D displays, light boxes etc, the HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press offers a variety of productivity enhancements, including in-line saturation control for backlit applications, hot folders and job queue, to help PSPs expedite their workflow. The device can print up to 95 full boards an hour and has a new point-of-purchase (POP) print mode that produces 55 full boards an hour with indoor quality.
New HP FB225 Scitex Inks adhere better on plastics and improve flexibility on corrugated media, allowing customers to reduce the time required for finishing and expand their businesses with new applications. The inks also have reduced odour and the ink system is GREENGUARD Children & Schools CertifiedSM, offering reassurance that the prints produced are suitable for use in indoor environments.
Singapore-based printing company Film Screen is the first in Asia Pacific to install an upgraded HP FB7500 that has been enhanced with software technologies from the next-generation market-defining HP Scitex HP FB7600.
The investment in the HP FB7600 is a strategic one as we are aiming to break into new market segments that we have previously never targeted, such as the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and the 3D display markets. The speed and quality of the HP FB7600 printer would add much strength to our competitive advantage in these markets,‖ said Lee Chee Yong, Managing Director, Film Screen Pte Ltd.
Existing owners of the HP Scitex FB7500 Industrial Press who want improved versatility and efficiency can easily upgrade their existing technologies with the HP Scitex FB7500 Industrial Press Upgrade Kit.
To better support all PSPs in maximizing uptime and serviceability, owners of all Scitex printers will enjoy a new level of service with HP Scitex Print Care. In addition, they can look forward to ESKOArtwork i-Cut Suite, a print-to-cut workflow solution that tackles bottlenecks in the manufacturing of wide format graphics by simplifying the cutting process, including PDF preflight, editing and correction, nesting and layout and the production of printing and cutting files.
Latex printing systems, designed with the environment in mind, drive business growth with broad application versatility
Ideal for high-impact point-of-purchase displays, soft signage, bus shelters, vehicle graphics and more, the HP Designjet L28500 and L26500 Printer series can print on a broad range of materials, including solvent compatible media and low-cost uncoated options. The new devices produce 1,200-dpi output with outdoor display permanence of up to three years unlaminated or five years laminated for high-quality, long-lasting prints. The output also dries inside the printer, boosting productivity for double-sided print jobs, and allowing immediate finishing or use.
With new soft signage printing capabilities, customers can produce applications from retail banners to tradeshow signs and interior décor, which are easy to fold and pack, inexpensive to ship, simple to hang and have improved durability outdoors. Building on the introduction of HP HDPE Reinforced Banner, the new printers also are optimized to work with new HP Double-sided HDPE Reinforced Banner, a compelling alternative to PVC scrim for advertising applications. The substrate offers the image quality, durability and tear strength of standard vinyl without the environmental disadvantages of a PVC-based substrate.
HP 792 Designjet ink cartridges, for use with the HP Designjet L28500 and L26500 Printer series are now Eco Mark certified by the Japan Environment Association, demonstrating relatively few environmental impacts through the product life cycle from production to disposal. PSPs can return their HP 792 Latex Designjet supplies through HP’s free, convenient recycling program, including ink cartridges, printheads, the printhead cleaning cartridge and the printhead cleaning container. A recycling program also is available for a range of HP High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Polyester (PET) printing materials, including the new HP Double-sided HDPE Reinforced Banner.
Additionally, the new printing systems reduce the amount of ink used during maintenance routines compared to solvent technology.
The XP2500 and the two new Latex machines were on show at FESPA Asia last week.
