Océ Australia has released its Océ ProCut software version 3 for users of the Océ ProCut finishing table and cutting system. The Océ ProCut solution is a complete digital system that includes a range of Océ ProCut digital cutting tables to automate finishing operations, and Océ ProCut software for preparing and interpreting the cutting instructions in a seamless workflow.
The system reduces labour and materials costs in the finishing stage, while enabling customers to gain productivity and increase profit margins.
It also opens the door to new business opportunities as customers can offer a wider range of applications to their clients, from decals to soft signage or structural displays such as prototype packaging and other applications that might formerly have used forme cutting. Substrates it can handle include foam core, plastics, polystyrene and wood.
A number of new features and improvements are included in Océ ProCut software version 3 to offer additional productivity and ease-of-use.
More automated processes.
For routine jobs, Océ ProCut software version 3 offers a new ‘Auto Folder’ feature. When users drop a job into the Auto Folder, a cut file and corresponding print files are automatically generated. For example, a crop box can be automatically identified as a cutting path, and registration marks and barcode can be added without further user intervention. Preparing a job for cutting becomes a totally hands-off process when using this feature.
New productivity features for the router.
Dust collection, tool lifts and finishing acceleration are further optimized for maximum efficiency. For routing aluminium, users can now pilot the “minimum quantity lubrication” feature from within the software, making for a more user-friendly experience.
Powerful last-minute job preparation functions.
Version 3 give users the ability to make last-minute corrections to cut path such as moving, adding or removing points on the cut path; and dragging handles to smoothen a cut line. Graphic cropping and eyelet generation are additional features that can highly facilitate the preparation steps. With these features available in Océ ProCut software version 3, users can make on-the-fly corrections without having to re-work the file in the design application, saving considerable time and preventing inadvertent data corruption.
Improved tiling.
Splitting an oversized graphic into multiple panels is simplified with the improved graphical user interface. In a matter of seconds users can add bleeds or extra white areas for easy printing, finishing and installation of tiled graphics.
More flexible data inputs.
Users can now import TIFF, JPG, BMP, GIF file formats and process multi-page PDF files, giving users the ability to follow the same easy print-and-cut workflow, whatever the data input.
Improved user interface.
Better preview functions, revamped user interface in the Océ ProCut Prepress module and more customizable toolbars provide even more user-friendliness for optimal operator efficiency.
