Agfa Graphics announced today that US company Primary Color is the first customer to install a fully automatic :M-Press Tiger that features an inline screen unit and autoloader.
Primary Color's :M-Press Tiger can output 7,388 ft²/hr including loading and unloading, with no make ready, films or screens. Additionally, the :M-Press Tiger has the flexibility to screen print primers, varnish, spot colors, gold, silver and white without any loss in productivity.
"The :M-Press Tiger is the fastest and most versatile digital alternative to traditional screen and lithography printing. Primary Color saw the opportunity to differentiate their business by choosing this high speed configuration and can meet new market demands for economical, high run-length digital printing, said Deborah Hutcheson, Director of Marketing, Agfa Graphics, North America.
Agfa Graphics and Thieme have jointly developed the :M-Press Tiger to combine the best of screen printing, media handling and digital inkjet technologies. The :M-Press Tiger can be configured with an the inline screen bed and autoloader or these options can be added as business demands grow.
The :M-Press Tiger's greyscale printhead technology offers superior reproduction of the finest gradations and vivid solid colors. Instant curing means jobs are ready for finishing immediately after being printed.
"Our initial test prints did not have any streaking and the reds are the best I have seen in a long time. The press is color managed to a G7 environment and to all our other devices. The :M-Press Tiger is amazing and I believe it is going to change the print world," said Dan Hirt, Primary's President.
