To reflect the continuing evolution of the print industry, PaperlinX is streamlining and simplifying its merchanting offer in Australia by merging operations into one company – ‘Spicers’.
The changeover will occur on Friday 1st June 2012, when the existing businesses of Spicers Paper, Dalton and iMedia will move to the new Spicers brand.
“We are moving to one company to provide greater simplicity and clarity for our customers, our suppliers and our team. In many ways we have been operating as one business for some time, but this official change represents the last stage of the transition”, said Andy Preece, Group General Manager, PaperlinX Merchanting Australia.
“Whilst we will continue “business as usual” with regards to all existing products and services, the customer experience will be simplified at every level, from customer service right through to receiving a delivery. Put simply it will make interacting with our business easier and more efficient for our customers”, he said.
Customers and stakeholders are being notified of the move to one company and it is expected that the changeover will be implemented with very little impact for customers.
Spicers was selected as the Australian company name as it is well recognised both locally and overseas, and aligns well to similar initiatives being undertaken in New Zealand, USA, Canada and Asia. In Australia, the Spicers Paper brand dates back to 1888. The move to the new brand “Spicers” and not “Spicers Paper” signifies a continued commitment to the Company’s core paper division whilst recognising the changing nature of the industry and allows the Company to develop emerging business strategies.
Rebranding to the name “Spicers” is a practical response to unifying the brand globally and making it more contemporary and relevant to the future direction of the business.
“This is a pivotal time in our Company’s long history and we believe this new approach will further optimise our customer’s experience in today’s ever challenging print environment”, said Andy Preece.
