SGIA in the US has released its 2012 Market Trends and Product Specialties Benchmarking Report for the graphics and sign and garment decoration communities. The reports examine sales figures, technologies utilised and the popular methods used by industry-leading companies to reach and retain customers.

According to the report, specialty imaging is ever optimistic about the future. Graphics and sign companies, on average, reported anticipated growth rates of 12.6 percent for 2012, while garment decoration companies fared even better, with expected growth of 17.3 percent.
Digital printing is also coming on strong. The dominance of digital technologies in the graphics and sign sector is unquestionable, with more than 95 percent of those responding operating some digital machines. In this area, garment decorators are catching up quickly, as only 20 percent of this community reported as exclusive screen printers.
