FESPA is partnering with the European Sign Federation (ESF) to run a new event - the European Sign Expo, 25-27 June 2013 in London alongside FESPA 2013.
The European Sign Expo will occupy 5000m2 (gross) adjacent to the existing FESPA 2013 halls, with distinct branding and entrances. Visitors to either FESPA 2013 or the European Sign Expo will have automatic access to the neighbouring event free of charge.
The European Sign Expo will complement FESPA’s traditional focus on printed signage and graphics, offering visitors a focused sign event in which to explore innovations in architectural and informational signage, including channel lettering, signage systems, illuminated displays and digital signage.
The new European Sign Expo builds on the success of the European Sign Summit which was a feature of FESPA 2010 in Munich, co-hosted by FESPA and ESF. The Summit featured a panel of expert speakers addressing a range of topical issues such as light pollution, new applications, and the role of signage in corporate communications and identity strategies.
The European Sign Expo will be organised by FESPA, with sales, marketing and operations the responsibility of the in-house exhibition team, and strategic input from ESF.
FESPA Managing Director of Exhibitions and Events Neil Felton comments: “It is a natural progression for FESPA to develop a sign exhibition to serve the European market; sign makers are already part of FESPA’s global community. As the convergence between the sign and print sectors continues, we want to guide graphic producers and their customers on how they can maximise the impact and effectiveness of signage.”
Roger Persson, President of European Sign Federation comments: “Developing an exhibition for the sign industry is an important mission for ESF. As a Federation, our objectives include providing a central point where the sign making community can obtain industry information, as well as facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences. We believe an exhibition is the perfect platform for individuals to be able to do this while also sourcing equipment solutions to improve the performance of their business.”
European Sign Expo will target a multitude of visitor profiles - from sign producers to retail brands - by collaborating with key players in the sign market including Shop and Display Equipment Association (SDEA).
Signs Express Managing Director, Craig Brown remarks: “We are delighted to hear FESPA has launched the European Sign Expo in London. This event is the ideal platform for us to encourage our network of 70 sign production centres to visit the show and keep up to speed with industry trends, as well as enable us to facilitate meetings and create further networking opportunities.”
As the only international exhibition focused on sign, early discussions with manufacturers have been met with positive interest. 35% of the floorspace for European Sign Expo has already been allocated.
