Spicers have recently introduced their Spicers Xpress Van to the streets of Sydney, generating some fantastic initial feedback.
Essentially a 3 tonne warehouse on wheels, the Spicers Xpress Van is a service and resource offering to their smaller digital customers, selling digital paper and consumables directly from the Van itself.
‘We got the idea from our Spicers office in New Zealand, who have been running a similar van service for some time now,’ explains David Rowland, Sales Manager, Spicers NSW.
‘Like most good things to come out of New Zealand, we’ve since adopted the idea locally with some excellent results.’
Carrying SRA3 products only, the Van does daily runs to certain regions, calling on clients to see if they require any stocks. The Spicers Xpress will also soon be supported by a text messaging system that alerts customers prior to the Van’s arrival, meaning customers can be ready with any orders they have, or to just have a chat to Spicers sales executive Larry, the Van’s friendly driver.
‘The right person is critical to the Van’s success, hence the appointment of Larry who has embraced the idea of the Van and made this Van his own,’ comments David. ‘Customers are already calling Larry directly. Unfortunately he doesn’t deliver coffee and donuts with your stock, yet!’
