The print and graphic communications sector has changed radically over the past few decades and the pace of transformation continues to accelerate, bringing with it challenges and opportunities.
Visitors to PacPrint13, however, can learn the secrets of successful transition from the experts at the PacPrint13 Forum Series.
The theme for the much anticipated Forum Series this year will be “An Industry in Transition” and will feature the unique and multi-talented Dr Ric
Dr Ric Charlesworth |
Anders Sormon-Nilsson |
Charlesworth, futurist and business specialist Anders Sorman Nilsson and, for the central session, a panel of industry experts including Joan Grace, General Manager – Employment, Education & Training for Printing Industries and Debbie Burgess, Director of Bright Print.
Nilsson, a Swedish-Australian, reformed lawyer and founder and creative director of the research and strategy company, Thinque, will address the first forum on Wednesday 22 May, setting the scene for the forum series with a focus on “Global Change & the Implications for Business”.
Nilsson’s unique global perspectives have helped leaders of some of the world’s leading corporations and educational institutions ‘make sense of and harness disruptive trends in innovations, generations and communications’. In his presentation, he will draw on a wide-ranging experience as a digital and innovation strategist and a firm believer in the need to blend the benefits of digital and analogue to get the best of ‘high tech’ and ‘high touch’.
On Thursday 23 May, a panel of industry experts will gather for an open – and likely very lively – discussion on “Perspectives on Print: The Challenges Ahead”. Forum Moderator, Steve Crowe, will ask the difficult questions, encouraging panelists to draw from their wide-ranging experience to offer ideas, insights and strategies for businesses facing challenging times…and to justify their decisions to stick with print as a medium of the future.
At the final Forum session on Friday 24 May, Charlesworth, who has held roles as doctor, Member of Parliament, Olympic athlete and coach (hockey), author, public speaker and mentor over his career so far, will bring his vast experience to bear on the subject of “Leadership & Managing Successful Transitions”, discussing the personal, team and wider business implications of transitioning to achieve success – and what happens when plans go astray.
Charlesworth’s presentation will be drawn from a life full of personal and organisational transitions and he will bring his unique perspective to not only help define what successful transition looks like, but to deal with issues such as the personal challenges prompted by major changes in life and career; how to minimise risk and maximise opportunity; how to help others in the team make successful transitions; how to minimise the disruption caused by change and, perhaps most importantly, how to embrace change before it’s too late.
Attendance at the PacPrint13 Forums is free for all registered visitors. However, places are limited and will be available on a first-come-first served basis on the day of each session. For more information go to www.pacprint.com.au
