‘Print is Alive’ is the topic apprentices around Australia can use to win an expense free trip to PacPrint 2013.

Printing Industries Association of Australia is running the Print is Alive promotion to encourage apprentices to become advocates for the industry and to use their talents to communicate the theme via any of a variety of mediums.
National Program Manager of the Association’s Apprenticeship Advisor and Mentoring Program, Ian Walz, said the vibrancy of print and its versatility could be communicated in any format including multimedia such as video/YouTube, a web page, animation, PowerPoint, a brochure, flyer, written essay, artwork, poster, photography or other created image.

We want the apprentices to communicate the message with the medium they are comfortable with and believe to be the most effective for this theme,” he said.
Entries are not limited in physical size but are limited to a maximum 500 words.Mr Walz said all entrants must be registered in the Printing Industries Australian Apprenticeship Mentoring program.
The winner would be flown to Melbourne from their home state (if outside of Victoria) or transported locally and accommodated overnight for 1-2 nights as necessary.
They would also receive:
A guided tour of PacPrint by their Mentor on 24 May 2013
Lunch while attending PacPrint.
A Ticket to attend the National Print Awards Presentation Dinner on Friday 24 May.
Out of pocket expenses.
Apprentices who are not registered can do so simply by providing their details via the www.printingcareers.com.au  website. The competition closes on 19 April 2013 and will be judged by representatives from the printing industry. The winner will be notified in plenty of time to prepare for their trip.
“The winning entry will be displayed on the Printing Industries PacPrint stand, number 1618, from 21 May. The stand will also feature mentor staff available to discuss how our program can assist apprentices or help company managers to recruit apprentices,” Mr Walz said.
