Xeikon will use FESPA Digital 2014 as the official launch pad for its Document Suites which are designed for large format and wall decoration applications.
Xeikon has continuously pushed forward the boundaries of what can be achieved in these areas. Visitors to its stand at FESPA Digital will see wallpaper depicting images so realistic that it's only by touching the flat surface, the illusion is revealed. FESPA Digital takes place May 20-23, in Munich, Germany. Xeikon will exhibit on stand B2-271, Hall B2.
“Xeikon has developed a suite of components – print media, equipment, software, tools and consumables – that has proved to be perfect for the creation of bespoke wall coverings that are at the leading edge of digital print quality,” says Danny Mertens, Xeikon’s director of segment marketing and business development document printing. “Wallpaper and wall decoration is an extremely exciting and growing market. Digital printing opens up possibilities that would have been unthinkable only a few years ago.”
To demonstrate that it is not solely ‘technology driven’, Xeikon is working closely with an innovative young North American designer called Hugo Diego who has helped to broaden the visual scope of the type of work produced. “Hugo, who already works with one of our customers in Canada, has produced some stunning effects by merging Xeikon technology with his extremely impressive artistic creativity in a collection called Creative Illusion," continues Mertens. "We are delighted that samples of this collaboration will be shown on our stand at FESPA Digital. We’re certain these will be quite an ‘attention grabber’ amongst the without a doubt many examples of eye-catching printed output. There is a strong and growing interest in ultra-high quality wall coverings printed digitally.”
Xeikon Wall-Covering Suite
Xeikon’s Document Suite includes the Wall-Covering Suite, which allows efficient production of personalized, high-quality wall decorations for commercial, retail and residential purposes. It’s an ‘all-in-one’ solution integrating four major components that customers can tailor to meet their own specific requirements. These four components consist of the Xeikon 3500 digital press with its ability to print on the widest media range available, dedicated workflows and software, application-specific toners and process optimization tools plus pre- and post-press equipment.
The ability of the 3500 to print full-rotary and endless makes it ideal for producing any kind of wall coverings, from short-run wallpapers of standard lengths to large murals. With an output speed of almost 20 m/min, Xeikon’s 3500 is the fastest digital printing press on the market. The new Alpine fuser drum guarantees a “matte” finishing for the print needed for wall-covering applications. Xeikon toners are odor-free and comply with EN15102, while the inline finishing systems available with the Wall-Covering Suite ensure accurate cutting in both process and cross directions.
