As trade exhibitions in general see reduced visitors, it would seem to make sense to combine shows targeting similar audiences.
Traditionally there has been little similarity between the sign industry and the commercial printing and packaging industries but the common link of course is wide format printing.
This once small industry confined to poster printing and cut letters has expanded at an exponential rate and is being embraced by many an industry over and above the sign industry.
Peter Harper of the Visual Industries Suppliers Association once told me that it made sense to co-locate the VI show with the bigger printing shows if only to offer the VI exhibitors more value with the expanded audience. Of course splitting the costs is another major reason as funding a show like the Visual Impact shows requires some serious financing.
The 2015 show will take place at Sydney’s Olympic Park from May 13th to the 15th next year.
