HP today announced that Victoria-based wide-format printing company Mezographic has added two HP large-format printers to its portfolio: the HP Scitex FB10000 Industrial Press and the HP Latex 3000 Printer.
The new additions will enable the company to offer their retail customers higher quality graphics at faster turnaround times.
The HP Scitex FB10000 Industrial Press will enable the company to take on more point of sale work. Mezographic will utilise the new machine’s production speeds of up to 625 m2 per hour to complete mass produced jobs at the fast turnaround times typical of the retail industry, maintaining high image quality throughout. The printer’s variable drop size will mean that Mezographic can employ small drops to produce high quality graphics for close viewing, and larger drops when express speed is required.
“Deadlines for point of purchase materials are tight. A two or three-day turnaround time is average as marketing collateral for retail is updated so often,” said Frank Mezo, owner & director, Mezographic. “The combination of speed and quality the HP Scitex FB10000 offers has empowered us to bring in more business by pushing into areas that would traditionally be handled by analogue printers. From our first view of the HP industrial press we could see it had incredible potential. The technology is unlike anything I have ever seen before, especially in its varying drop size. It offers great versatility, with a combination of excellent quality print and amazing speed.”
The HP Latex 3000 printer will be used for fine detail work. With 1200 dpi capability, it will produce high-end graphic prints for close viewing, such as light boxes for the retail environment. The new machine will take on work previously serviced by two smaller Latex printers, printing seven times faster than the machines it will replace. It will also be significantly more cost-efficient to run with its greater power efficiency and cheaper consumables.
A family-owned business established in 1993, Mezographic has evolved from an innovative boutique screen printer to become a leading all-digital print shop in Australia. The majority of the company’s work comes from well-known brands with stringent guidelines, and has involved printing a full range of work for retail, from posters to banners to decals and everything in between. The company prides itself on impeccable quality and colour control, with all machines controlled by GMG Colour Control software to enable perfect colour matching.
“As a company we continuously strive to offer great quality and colour matching, and our motto is ‘Get Things Done’,” said Mezo. “Any investments we make need to be in line with the promise we make to our customers - that their work will be completed on time and at the highest quality, with no compromises between the two. We are excited to be able to bring to our customers even faster turnaround times while maintaining the excellent colour quality that they expect from us.”
